Premsela & Hamburger was established anno 1823 by Jacob Meyer Premsela and Jacob Meyer Hamburger. For a long time they were widely known as expert stone cutters. In the years following, they developed themselves more and more as dealers in objects of fine arts, objects de vertu and appraisers and in 1973 Premsela & Hamburger becomes supplier of the Dutch Queen.

In the war, Jenny Premsela married M.H. Gans. The business company has now been set at the Kloveniersburgwal 39. When they returned from  Switzerland, their store was set on the Sarphatistraat 169. Nowadays, the firm is led by Mr. L.B. Gans and set on the Rokin.

 In 1958 the firm got a medal by the international diamond exhibition. There has also been sold a lot of great silver when the Dutch queen, Beatrix, got married with prince Claus.
